Less Is More Less Is More

Less Is More

Have you ever thought about how our world is obsessed with having everything? From a young age we have been watching commercials, ads and programs that always tell us that we need more. Wether it is more clothes, more money, or more possessions, it starts to take a toll on our mental health and what we are consuming growing up. Even as a kid, things like this never shocked me—it was normal to always want more than I had.

Have you ever wanted something so bad and after you finally got it in your hands you thought to yourself, "This isn't as cool as I thought it was going to be." Do material possessions really make us happy?

I have always thought loved the idea that I could invest my time in money in more real things, rather than possessions. Of course I want that nice shirt, the nice shoes and the other nice things—but at the same time, deep down, we want more than any of those things; We want more out of life.

In all comes down to being confident in who you are, which we have talked about in our recent blogs. Look around you and be thankful for what you have, no matter where you are in life. Look at the people that love you, the people who support you and even more importantly, the people that have helped you get where you are today. There are a lot of small practices you can do daily to help with being content, but if you really really want something, why not work to get it?

But also think about small things—think about things you would get more out of.

Less Driving = More walking

Less inside = More outside

Less Working = More playing

Less Planning = More doing

Less Doubting = More Believing

Less Spending = More Experiences

There is always something we can do less. But in all reality, less can be more. In this way we can live, appreciate, love and be more.

What are some things you could be doing less, and doing more of?
