In My Feelings
In your feelings today? Guess what, me too.
It can be so hard to shake emotions that we have. In our blogs we have talked a lot about development and overcoming our insecurities. Feelings are the biggest factor in both of those aspects, so sometimes moving forward sounds a lot easier than it actually is.
Maybe you're going through a breakup.
Maybe you feel lonely.
Maybe someone is treating you unfair, or even not treating you the way you think you should be treated.
In all of these emotions, we directly want an answer. I want to know why I feel the way I do—and how to stop it. We just want to be happy all the time, right?
Unfortunately I have learned this the hard way, but all the feelings we have can't be won over. Are you going to feel like this forever? No. Will it come again? Yes.
It is so much easier to take these emotions in waves, and truly let yourself feel them. In many dark times of my life it was always easier to push something aside, all the way to the back of my mind. This never made me truly happy, it just made me content. When I don't deal with my emotions it not only pushed them away for a second, but it always sends them back.
I don't have the answer for you, and neither does anyone else. We all process our emotions differently. We all have ways of coping and feeling the feels. The important thing is to process them though and finding the healthiest way for you to do that.
Thankfully we can do it together—we can talk about our feelings with people we are close to, which helps us reflect and work towards an ending solution.
